Coop Hatchback is a character in the Goof Troop episode "Buddy Building".

Personality

Coop enjoys working out and getting strong. But when someone like Max criticizes the work out center, Coop tends to show some annoyance. However, when it comes to socializing, he prefers hanging out with people his own age, especially people who can become like him. When it seemed he didn't care about Max, he actually thanked both him and P.J. for counting him in. When it comes to bullies, he can get scary to any one of them he comes up against. When that bully begs for mercy, Coop asks him what he should say. When he apologizes, Coop will let them off the hook, and send him away in his own style, such as flinging the bully off a tree branch.

Abilities

After working out, Coop Hatchback became so strong, he could lift a teenager taller than he was off the ground; and he was able to fling him off a tree branch with enough force that he sent him flying.

Role in the series

He first appears after Leech ties Max and P.J. to a tree. He intimidates Leech to make him apologize and then flings him off a tree branch. He unties the two boys and starts a friendship with P.J., telling him that he could work out and become strong just like himself. So Coop takes P.J. and Max to the workout center, but Max wasn't sure calling it "a sandbox", much to Coop's annoyance. While he assisted P.J., they both watch Max try and fail to impress them. When Max comes back with one of Giblet's special balloons, he witnesses him fly up and then crash into his father after a wild spin.

After finding out that a star was around, he worked with his dad, and with P.J. and Max and their dads to find him.

By the end of the episode, he revealed that he wanted to hang out with ordinary kids and shows his acceptance of Max and they all go to hang out.

Trivia

• Since he made his only appearance in "Buddy Building", it's a mystery if he protected Max and P.J. from Leech ever again or if he and his dad moved away from Spoonerville.
• Ironically, while Conor Duffy was voicing him, Conor's father, Patrick Duffy, did the voice of Coop Hatchback's father, Harold Hatchback.
