Mighty Ducks: The Animated Series was the last show produced by Walt Disney Television Animation in the Disney Afternoon-Era, running from September 6, 1996 to January 17, 1997. Running for a total of twenty-six episodes, it ran on the Disney Afternoon on Friday afternoons and on ABC on Saturday mornings. As suggested by the title, the show was inspired by the live-action films and real-life NHL team of the same name (the latter of which was renamed the Anaheim Ducks after being sold by Disney). Unlike the movies, however, the show is about six alien ducks who come from a planet called Puckworld.
