"My Mother the Psychic" is the eightieth episode of DuckTales.
Synopsis[]
Fenton's mother suffers a bad shock when trying to get better television reception and gains the ability to predict the future. Her new-found psychic abilities are soon exploited by Scrooge, much to Fenton's chagrin.
Memorable quotes[]
Fenton: Mr. McDuck, you can't expect M'Ma to leave her happy tin home! Besides, we're inseparable! Mrs. Crackshell: That's true. Why, Fenton and I are like Laverne and Squirrely, Siskel and Eggbert, Cow Worthington and his dog Spot! Scrooge: You'd have your own widescreen television. Mrs. Crackshell: [pushing Fenton aside] Outta my way, leach. Fenton: Hmph. Even Spot doesn't get treated like a dog! |
"You know what I always say, a fortune saved is a fortune earned!" |
Mrs. Crackshell: Come in, Fenton. Fenton: M'Ma! How didja know it was--Oh, that's right. I keep forgetting you're psychic. Guess what! Mrs. Crackshell: You brought me a box of Quackerjacks. Fenton: Deluxe-sized! That means there's a super-duper surprise inside! Mrs. Crackshell: Aah, it's just a yo-yo. Fenton: Aw, too bad, M'Ma. Fortunately, that's not my big surprise! Wait'll you hear-- Mrs. Crackshell: Oh yeah, you repaired my television set. Fenton: Tryin' to surprise a psychic can be a real drag. |
"Mother, will you stop answering my questions before I ask 'em!? This isn't Jeopardy!, you know!" |
"Gee, a son not visitin' his own ma! And people call us criminals!" |
Fenton: Blatherin' blatherskite! Still no news about M'Ma! Scrooge: I'm doing everything I can, Fenton. I even had your mother's face put on milk cartons, despite protests from the dairy association. |
Scrooge: I've just been informed that Flintheart Glomgold is having an unbelievable upturn in the stock market. Fenton: How can you think about money matters when poor M'Ma could be in danger? Scrooge: Fenton, Glomgold's profits went up the day your mother disappeared. Fenton: So he got lucky the day my luck ran out. Big deal. Scrooge: HE'S GOT YOUR MOTHER, YOU IDIOT!! |
Glomgold: I can't tell you how pleased I am with your predictions, Mrs. Crackshell. I've made billions! At this rate, I'll soon be richer than Scrooge McDuck. Mrs. Crackshell: So where's my remote control? Glomgold: Are you kiddin'?! Do you know how much those cost!? |
Mrs. Crackshell: [after Gizmoduck is stuck to Glomgold's magnet] Oh Gizmoduck, I'm so sorry. Gizmoduck: Don't blame yourself, madam. I only regret that I'm unable to tell my mother how much I'll miss her. Mrs. Crackshell: Not half as much as she'll miss you. |
"With any luck, I should be able to land back in Duckburg! After all, I did win first prize at the Fantastic Fresbo Frisbee Flyoffs!" |
"Gee, M'Ma, can we go on Space Mountain again?" |
Notes[]
- For some reason, on the DuckTales: Volume 4 DVD set, the opening sequence for this episode presents the show's title in a generic font rather than the standard DuckTales logo.
- Toon Disney's airings trimmed the Beagle Boys' commercial to remove Burger firing a gun at Baggy.
