The Lion King's Timon & Pumbaa, often simply referred to as Timon & Pumbaa, is an animated series spun off from the 1994 Disney animated film The Lion King. It ran for three seasons, with the first two seasons debuting simultaneously on the Disney Afternoon and on CBS's Saturday morning block. The third season's episodes ran on Toon Disney in 1999, notably making this the only Disney Afternoon show to still be premiering new episodes after the block's end.
Premise
Set after the events of the original film, the series involves Timon the meerkat and Pumbaa the warthog having misadventures in the jungle of Africa, as well as across the globe in different settings such as Canada, United Kingdom, United States and Spain. While the show focuses primarily on Timon and Pumbaa, the first two seasons also had episodes centering on Rafiki, Zazu, and the hyena trio, Shenzi, Banzai, and Ed. Simba, the original film's protagonist, also made a few guest appearances.
